I mastered the courage to go for the job, having graduated just about
3 weeks earlier. I went to the receptionist and asked to see the
Managing Director. She ushered me in to the office of an elderly man who
was kind enough to give me a hearing. I told him I had just graduated
with a bachelor of commerce degree with accounting major and someone
informed me that his esteemed company was looking to fill the position
of an Accountant which had fallen vacant. “You have no experience to do
the job” he said. I was taken aback but gathered the courage and replied
“if no one is willing to give me an opportunity to gain experience, how
will I ever get any experience?” Proving that I could perform without
prior work place experience was the door way to my first job.
